The Super Bowl is approaching and this event is synonymous with “food”! I just discovered this low protein nachos recipe that was shared on the “Nutrition pour les maladies métaboliques et héréditaires” Facebook group.
Ingredients
- Cambrooke Tortillas
- Cambrooke Patty Mix
- Aquafaba (the liquid in cans of chickpeas)
- liquid smoke
- Canola oil (personally, I would opt for avocado oil)
- Green shallots
- Pizza sauce (I will use salsa)
- Mushrooms
- Black olives
- Low Protein Vegan Shredded Cheese
Preparation
Cut the tortillas into wedges, brush them with oil and add a little paprika. Put in the oven at 350 F. Meanwhile, prepare small balls of Patty Mix by adding 2-3 drops of liquid smoke. The original recipe suggests adding a spoonful of maple syrup. Grill in a pan with a little oil.
Once the tortillas are ready, put them on a plate, add your grilled sausages, your vegetables, the salsa, then the cheese and return everything to the oven at 350 F. Then, all you have to do is enjoy!
Pro tip: The cook who provided this recipe suggests placing aluminum foil over the nachos so the cheese can melt more easily.
